Google ignites skills learning in Singapore

Google Singapore launched the Skills Ignition SG programme to equip and empower singaporeans through skills training and boosting productivity.
In a conversation with HRM Asia, Ben King, Country Director of Google Singapore talks about Googles’ role in the programme and how it is helping to reshape L&D needs.
The Skills Ignition SG programme is a collaboration between Google, Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the SkillsFuture SG programme.
It is a nine month place and training programme that is open to 600 applicants. It equips Singaporeans (citizens and PRs) with skills they need to be job-ready.
Skills Ignition SG offers programmes in Digital Marketing and Cloud technology, which are skill sets high in demand and will continue to increase. The course comes with professional certifications that are endorsed by Google and recognised by leading global industry bodies.
The course prioritises in creating training opportunities and hands-on work experience for Singaporeans and will provide job opportunities in Google, SMEs and startups.
